Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), a subdivision of Tata Motors specializing in electric vehicles, introduced Punch.ev as its newest electric vehicle built on the company’s ‘acti.ev’ platform. Acti.ev, an advanced automotive architecture designed for electric vehicles, will serve as the foundation for upcoming EVs such as the Harrier EV, Curvv EV, and Sierra EV.
The term “acti.ev” stands for Advanced Connected Tech-Intelligent Electric Vehicle. It epitomizes Tata’s commitment to creating technologically advanced products with superior performance, efficiency, and space utilization.
Chief Products Officer Anand Kulkarni elaborated on the significance of the new platform, saying, “The meticulous design of this architecture prioritizes class-leading efficiencies while maximizing space and battery capacity, leading to an enhanced driving experience. Acti.ev is a globally competitive and future-oriented platform that supports software-oriented features, ensuring technological advancements and future-proofing our vehicles.”
Starting January 5th, customers can reserve their Punch.ev with a token amount of Rs 21,000. The price range of the Punch.ev will be disclosed during its launch later this month.
“We are confident that Punch.ev will introduce the next generation of EVs from TPEM. Just like our current portfolio of EV products, we expect that future vehicles built on the acti.ev architecture will captivate and delight our expanding community,” Kulkarni added.
